My dads recipe: For a five quart freezer.

6 junkets softened in water

5 eggs beaten
2.5 cups sugar-put in eggs
pinch salt
1 can evaporated milk - add enough milk to make 2 quart

Add egg and sugar mixture to milk as it heats. Stir and let get hot but not boil.

Add 4 T. vanilla
Add junket. Stir.
Pour in freezer. Add a little yellow coloring.
Let set 20-30 minutes.
Freeze in ice cream freezer.

Maybe it is because it is 4 am and I am tired, but I have to ask what a junket is ?

You have to look carefully next to the jello mixes. They are small boxes. I saw you can order them off their website as a last resort.

If I can't find it I am going to order some. It looks very good.

I made this recipe at my inlaws after Lisa and I got back from a funeral today.

Most excellent stuff. A grand total of four brain freezes slowed me down just a bit on the intake, but still very much worth it.

I don't think I'd want to ruin some good icecream with some pepper.
