I've been using AceFTP recently. So far I like it. It has all the functionality that I need. And it's *FREE*. When you load it up, it does pop up a screen trying to get you to buy the Pro version. But you can click a button to continue with the free version. No other nagging stuff that's shown up for me.

ticked me off, I only received a months subscription because of that. I'll never buy a Plus subscription from them again!

wish they would put an option in the settings to skip scanning of the HOSTS file, that process takes 5 minutes alone to run, ya know with all them entries in their from spybot?

I haven't really seen any advantage to using opendns. What advantages have any of you noticed?

When you try going to www.amazoon.com it takes you to the right web page instead of that site smile

That's because it does filtering of phishing sites as well I believe among other things smile Also you can create an account there from what I read and tell it what to filter out like porn etc if you do have kids which is nice smile

I looked at the filters and I think it would have been good to have when a$$munch lived at our house, but I'm really not seeing anything compelling to get me to keep it. We don't surf porn and don't do that much to get us in trouble on our macs.

The fact that its slows us down is why I was asking if there was atleast ONE good reason to keep it. I need some persuasion here.

the reason it slows you down is because it is actually filtering the whole net to make you safer. If you don't want safety then don't use it.

All the stuff it does is on the opendns website if you look. I use it on a router level myself which does not seem to slow me down.

It does more then porn tongue Here is the page of why it is useful -
http://www.opendns.com/features/overview/

I switched when I kept getting 404 errors when trying to surf to amazon as after I switched I no longer have trouble getting websites to load due to dns reasons.
