About three months ago I had to have my dog of 11 yrs. put to sleep for cancer. Now today for the umpeenth time since then someone asked me if I was going to get another dog. I'm not someone who thinks that a pet can be "replaced" any more than a member of the family can. I've told people that if I get another dog it will be in my own good time but still they keep asking.

I know what you mean, it's been 14 years since my cat of 14 years died, and I still can't bear to get another. I can't even bring up the topic to my mom who get's misty eyed. {hugs}

From my own experience (and others as well):

When the time comes (and you may not realize that it has) they will find you. You might give fate a hand inadvertently by going to a place which has animals or one will show up at your place.

Don't let anyone push you in to that Wabbit when the
time is right you will know.Some people don't love there pets like all of us at Harold's.They just don't understand
that our pets are part of our family.

I know how you feel, and that's exactly why I don't talk to people IRL, I just come here, 'cause I know everyone here knows how I feel about most things.

I'm trying to catch the little cow-cat. Without terrorizing him, that is. He doesn't like people at all!
