I went to that movie last nite ... the first movie I've been to in the theater since "American Pie" (and that was the first one). But I had to go to this movie. I am a weather nut after all (maybe I should have Harold change my title to that ... nut fits me better than goddess does anyways ... LOL).

Anyways, the movie ... I absolutely loved it. I know that there's been controversy about it ... but it's a movie for crying out loud. It is about a serious issue ... global warming. And it's a movie that makes you think ... at least it should. Of course, I love extreme weather (except for the damage it does) ... and the weather in the movie was EXTREME. Nothing like that will ever happen in our lifetime, but you never know if some sort of climate change might because of all the crap we're putting into the atmosphere. I just know that if what happened in the movie ever did happen ... I'd be screwed living up here in ND ... I'd better move south before that happens.

Has anyone else seen this movie or are planning to? It's definitely a good one. If you do see it, let me know what you think.

From the reviews and the teasers I saw, I don't think I'd pay to see it. Probably wait until it hits network TV in a year or whenever. It was just too extreme and over the top.

I didn't pay to see it ... I had a $10 book of gift certificates. I went to the matinee, so it was just $5 ... and a pop and box of Junior Mints was $4.75, so I acually made a quarter on the deal. But I would pay to go see it again. But I'll probably just wait for it to come out on DVD and buy it. But like I said ... I'm a weather nut.

There are liberties taken with the movie but it's message is frighteningly possible.

In Antarctica there are real wooly mammoth's flash frozen in place. They are upright and the pasture grass they were eating is still in their mouths. The grass is still green. These beasts were frozen so fast it halted decay. What on earth could have caused that?

Not relevant to the quality of the movie, but relevant to people who want to get their hands on it.

I think most of the controversy surrounding the film centers around the nuts (moveon.org) who do take this movie too seroiusly and gather outside theaters complete with flyers & exaggerations.

I didn't see anything in the movie that would make me think, that the 2nd ice age was going to start tomorrow, or within my lifetime.

I bought "The Day After Tomorrow" on DVD yesterday. I'm watching it now. I really like this moving. It's one of my favorites right up there with "Twister". But I guess that's 'cuz I'm a weather nut.

I rather enjoyed the tornados in LA. Pretty cool effects. Storyline could have been a bit better, but hey, I enjoy movies that don't make me use my brain to follow.

I got a copy on DVD for my birthday and it took weeks before I had time to watch it. I think they tried too hard to tell a story when they would have been better off to show the weather events and how people dealt with it. But hey, I still liked it and it got people talking. Perhaps they'll figure it out soon:

I didn't really care for the movie. There were too many incidents that made no sense at all. The story was almost non existant but I do say the graphics were good.
