I discovered Overnet which is a filesharing program. They have alot of DTS encoded 5.1 music CD's. These are wave files that sound like static but when you burn them as a music CD and play them through your DVD player and home theater reciever then you have EXCELLENT sounding 5.1 music. It sounds so crisp and pure and it comes out of every speaker. The bass sounds so much better because it's got its own dedicated channel. It sounds odd having a huge bass rummble coming out of the subwoofer and not having anything coming out of the other speakers. With movies you usually have other stuff playing at the same time but with the music you have someone talking with huge bass rumbling from the sub. Sounds very cool!

I love listening to music in DD 5.1. I've listened to a few dvd audio cds, and I loved the quality. Right now my soundcard plays my mp3s in four channel stereo. The bass sounds ok, but the overall quality would greatly improve if I could get all digital music.

I tell ya the quality is so damned perfect on DTS music. It makes regular CDs sound like crap.

Yeah, why buy into SACD when DVD-A and DTS audio will play on any existing DVD player. SACD needs a special CD player. I haven't heard how SACD sounds and I dont even know if it's a multichannel format but I've heard DVD-A and DTS-A and I love them! God, it's like hearing music for the first time. Like the difference between tape and cd was.

I just got myself the DTS version of Pink Floyd's Darkside of the Moon. Very nicely done. Apparently this one is the very rare British version that is taken from the original 8 track recordings. It says that this is the way they originally wanted it to sound if only quadrophonic stereos took off in Britain. Can't wait to listen to this while watching the Wizard of Oz. Any of you ever done that?

I just downloaded Sting's Nothing Like the Sun in DTS and that sounds even better than Pink Floyd! This is my new love!
