NASCAR, what is that, I'm sorry but IF I DON'T GET THAT RACING STUFF SOON, sorry for the caps, I am going to die. Everyone, Becky's site is great......Becky's great, and she is one of the good ones.
Thats ok country chicken NASCAR is easy to understand. Simply get in car, go fast, Turn left. See nothing to it.
OH NO, there is a lot more to it than that. You have to know when to pit, what to do on the pit stop, how to ease into the corner and then push the gas pedal without losing grip, how to pass someone while going into the corner, what shock package to use, how many spring rubbers to use in the shocks, and all that kind of stuff. Don't even get me started on the engine builders, and what to use in the engine.....jeez.
If it was just going left then anyone could do it. And as you can see there are only 42 cars in the world that have the right combination to be able to race each weekend.

Provisional rules changed for Nextel Cup, Busch From Press Release January 6, 2004 5:09 PM EST (2209 GMT)
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The provisional system for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series and NASCAR Busch Series will have several changes beginning with the 2004 season, NASCAR officials announced Tuesday.
The most significant change in the system will increase the number of cars that make the 43-car fields via qualifying times, raising the total from 36 to 38. The move reduces the amount of provisional starting positions assigned to a field from seven to five. The "champion's" provisional remains in place for the 43rd and final starting position when applicable.
The other key change involves the eligibility for the provisional starting positions for new car owners and also those not among the top 45 in the owner standings. Those owners are ineligible for provisionals until after their entry makes an attempt to qualify at four events. After attempting to qualify for four events, the car owner will receive two provisionals and additional ones can be earned by attempting to qualify for six events, with a season maximum of eight. Previously, those outside the top 45 and new car owners earned four initial provisionals following their first attempt to qualify for a race.
Additional changes include:
Car owners in the top 45 positions of the 2003 owner championship standings will receive four provisionals at the outset of the season and will receive an additional one after attempting to qualify for six events, for a season maximum of 10. The previous season maximum was eight.
Each provisional used by a car owner during the season -- regardless of standing -- counts against the owner's season allotment earned. Previously, the top 25 car owners were not charged for provisionals used after the fourth race of the season.
In the event the number of entrants is equal to or less than the number of starting positions available for an event, provisionals assigned to fill starting positions 39 through 43 will not count toward the maximum season allotment.
The provisional starting positions procedure for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will remain unchanged for the 2004 season. Also unchanged for 2004 in the NASCAR Busch Series will be the rule in which car owners who utilize a driver who is among the top 35 in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series championship points will be ineligible for a provisional starting position.

Revamped Fan Fest opens in Daytona By Dave Rodman, Turner Sports Interactive January 6, 2004 5:23 PM EST (2223 GMT)
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Bands, pit stop demonstrations and fan forums with NASCAR drivers are some of the elements of the inaugural 2004 NASCAR Preseason Thunder Fan Fest that opens Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway.
Fan Fest is a five-part event that coincides with January's Nextel Cup Series, Craftsman Truck Series and Busch Series test sessions at Daytona. Two elements of the Fan Fest, those that involve Nextel Cup participants, replace the T. Wayne Robertson Winston Cup Preview that previously was held in January in Winston Salem, N.C.
The events include various elements outside Daytona's grandstands. The paid events, such as fan forums with drivers, will be in the "Daytona Club" tent that is located behind the facility's central Nextel Tower grandstand for the Nextel Cup events and in DAYTONA USA for the Craftsman Truck and Busch Series events.
Fan Fest is scheduled from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. daily under the following schedule: Jan. 7 and 14, Nextel Cup Fan Fests; Jan. 10, Craftsman Truck Fan Fest; and Jan. 17 and 20, Busch Fan Fest.
The Nextel Cup driver appearance schedule for the Jan. 7 Fan Fest has Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, Dale Jarrett, Mark Martin, Joe Nemechek and Kevin Harvick at 6 p.m.; Ward Burton, Kurt Busch, Jamie McMurray, Jeremy Mayfield and Ricky Craven at 6:45 p.m.; and Dale Earnhardt Jr., Michael Waltrip, Kasey Kahne, Brendan Gaughan and Jeff Green at 7:30 p.m.
The tentative Craftsman Truck driver appearance schedule for the Jan. 10 Fan Fest has Mike Skinner, Jack Sprague, Ted Musgrave, Rick Crawford and Jon Wood at 6:30 p.m.; and Dennis Setzer, Travis Kvapil, Bobby Hamilton, Terry Cook and Carl Edwards at 7:15 p.m.
The tentative Nextel Cup driver appearance schedule for the Jan. 14 Fan Fest has Ryan Newman, Rusty Wallace, Sterling Marlin, Greg Biffle, John Andretti, Ken Schrader and Ricky Rudd at 6 p.m.; Jimmie Johnson, Bobby Labonte, Robby Gordon, Elliott Sadler, Jimmy Spencer, Johnny Sauter and Kyle Petty at 6:45 p.m.; and Jeff Gordon, Terry Labonte, Jeff Burton, Scott Riggs, Brian Vickers, Casey Mears and Larry Foyt at 7:30 p.m.
The tentative Busch Series driver appearance schedule for the Jan. 17 Fan Fest has David Green, Bobby Hamilton Jr., Joe Nemechek and Mike Wallace at 6:30 p.m.; and Kasey Kahne, Mike Bliss and Johnny Sauter at 7:15 p.m.
The tentative Busch Series driver appearance schedule for the Jan. 20 Fan Fest has Kenny Wallace, Jason Keller, Stacy Compton and Tim Fedewa at 6:30 p.m.; and Casey Atwood, Kurt Busch, Ron Hornaday and Ashton Lewis at 7:15 p.m.
Scattered along the frontstretch outside Daytona's grandstand gates, the scheduled fan festivals will feature show cars, bands, sponsor displays, race team haulers and other exhibits.
The event will also include fan forums, engine building and pit stop demonstrations, silent auctions and food and fun set in either the Daytona Club, which is used during racing events as a prime hospitality venue or DAYTONA USA.
On each Fan Fest day, MRN Radio, FOX Sports or NBC Sports celebrity announcers will moderate fan forums with drivers and NASCAR officials.
While all displays and entertainment outside is free to the public, tickets to enter the Nextel Cup events are $10 and $5 for the Busch Series and Craftsman Truck events.
Only fans purchasing tickets to the Cup, Busch and Truck Fan Fest events will receive gift bags that include drivers' autographed pictures, DAYTONA USA admission vouchers, NASCAR Magazine, posters and other fan goodies.
Fans can view each Preseason Thunder test session, which occur daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., free of charge from the grandstands behind DAYTONA USA.
Tests include:
Jan. 6-8 -- Nextel Cup teams that finished in the odd positions in the 2003 owner standings,
Jan. 10-12 -- Craftsman Truck Series teams
Jan. 13-15 -- Nextel Cup teams that finished in the even positions in the 2003 owner standings
Jan. 17-18 -- Busch Series teams that finished in the odd positions in the 2003 owner standings
Jan. 20-21 -- Busch Series teams that finished in the even positions in the 2003 owner standings
Proceeds from the NASCAR Preseason Thunder Fan Fest will benefit Victory Junction Gang Camp, NASCAR Wives Auxiliary, Speediatrics and the Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston Salem
