Yeah, I wasn't trying to tick anyone off. Like you I think it makes a very good point. BTW I am not prejudice.... I hate everyone equally!

Ahem. Guys this is the exact thing they say, I've heard it. And again not to tick anyone off, this is what the Welfare people say, again, I've heard it myself. When I do homevisits, they have no food for the kids, but boy is that big screen TV nice.....priorities......harumph.

Nope, I'm a Probation Officer, scary, huh? It's ok, right now I'm assigned to the Pre-Trial Unit, so I'm trying to get people out of jail and supervise them while their case is pending. I used to supervise people who were convicted of repeated Driving While Intoxicated offenses.

It is very interesting, and I learn something new everyday. I have worked there for 14 years ( in March it will be 15) so I have earned my stripes, but no promotion, not very good at tests.

thats interesting. I take the calls to dispatch the police then you end up getting the rift raft. I feel your pain. I wouldn't want to deal with these people.

Thanks, I have a lot of respect for the police and fire personnel. At the Probation Dept. we get a lot of people who commit crimes, but it's usually in a controlled setting, so it's really not that dangerous. As opposed to the Police and Fire, anything could happen, and does. And they never know if they are going to get kicked in the head, or fall through a floor......true Heroes!

I agree they are true heros. The girl scout troop make up " HERO " baskets during the holidays to take to the police and fire houses in the area since they don't get the day off and to let them know they are appreciated. Thanks for sharing your occupation. I know little about law enforcement. We do have a repeat offender in our family with in your occupation. Doing much better now I believe.

That's a great thing that the troop does, I keep forgetting that people have to work on those days......

Regarding your family member, as long as they are happier and making progress that is all that we can ask for.
