If it has a pedestrian option your probably good to go. You could really use one in the big truck. If you have to change directions for any reason (accident blocking traffic) it automatically reroutes you. The only problem I see with the re route is if it sends you down a street your truck can't legally be on.

I'm guessing it only deals with known truck routes like highways.

Lisa likes the rerouting deal. I've been plugging in some addresses that she needs for oddball trips out of town.

I think I might look for memory cards from Garmin that could help more with this.

There are GPS units that you can use on your laptop. The cost is usually under $70. I use one on my laptop with a GPS receiving unit attached to usb port. Mine is DeLorme Street Atlas.

"NEW! Truck Stop data with extended information about service offerings"

Read the info here.

Now I want to go paperless. With what I have in the current gps and a pocket pc will total around $600.

The colorado is about the same. With no need for a pocket pc.
Plus because of step kids and grandkids I didn't get anything for my birthday nor for Christmas. But my tax return will be comming soon.

I would strongly recommend a palm over a pocket pc for paperless caching. I've used both and the palm software if more user friendly.

That's nice, but the price would need to come down by at least half for it to get considered. I think we'll give what we have a try first. \:\)

We started the year out by maintaining a few of our caches and look for 4. Tom needs to do something with Mark today so we won't be caching anymore this weekend. He works tomorrow

We have areas here that look like ponds but are bone dry the rest of the year. lots of water this year. One of our caches had to be anchored down. It floated 50 feet away and we had to find it.
