After using the stick for the last couple of weeks. I really like it. Then I found this link Sticks and other stuff. I may try my hand at building my own this winter. Sides any catalog that has catagories such as Power Carving and Pyrography cann't be all bad.

Found my first Earthcache last week. Now I'm in the process of writing up my own earthcache. First I have to submit the geocache approval form to the forest managers office. Then if it gets approved it will be submitted to the Geological Society of America make sure it meets their guidelines. Then if it gets approved it will be it will be released thru geocaching.com.
I'll let you know when and if it gets approval so all you folks can come find it.

Sorry. No there are different types. Earthcache = The most exciting way to learn about the Earth and its processes is to get into the outdoors and experience it first-hand. Visiting an Earthcache is a great outdoor activity the whole family can enjoy. An Earthcache is a special place that people can visit to learn about a unique geoscience feature or aspect of our Earth. Earthcaches include a set of educational notes and the details about where to find the location (latitude and longitude). Visitors to Earthcaches can see how our planet has been shaped by geological processes, how we manage the resources and how scientists gather evidence to learn about the Earth. To develop your own EarthCache and share it's educational value with others, follow the simple EarthCache Guidelines and record the EarthCache via the submital form. Once your site had met the guidelines and is approved by GSA it is released to the wider community through http://www.geocaching.com. As a part of Geocaching, which is an adventure game for Global Positioning System (GPS) users to cache and find locations of actual items hidden, EarthCaching is the concept of treasure hunting for the caches that the Earth has stored. EarthCaches do not use stored containers - their treasure is the lessons people learn about our planet when they visit the site. EarthCaches are developed by geocachers who have knowledge of geoscience and have an interesting earth feature near them and would like to share it with the world. All you need to get started is a GPS receiver and a good idea "This was taken directly from the GSA web site."

This afternoon I submitted the first form to the DNR at the forestry headquarters building. The woman there was ready to sign it immediately. Then she decided to wait for her boss to come back as this is their first Earthcache. She did say the form would be signed and in the mail in a day or two. When I get the form in the mail then I can submit the next form to the GSA.
So far so good.
