I'm so hot I could explode. Some putz goes caching without reading the cache page and might have cost me one of my earth caches. Its called Rain garden. Earth caches are tough to get published. There is a lot of extra work lots of coordinating to get the right permission. Here is a link that explains the care and feeding of earth caches. http://www.earthcache.org/Here is my GC number for Rain Garden GC1D42A If you go here. http://www.geocaching.com/default.aspx and put the GC number in the search box the cache page will show up. By reading the page you will see all the information needed to claim the cache. Also you will see who I contacted to get permission to place the cache. Here is the notice I received from the cache. Log Date: 3/26/2010 Didn't find this today, and the leader of the firehouse had no idea that there was a cache there, and demanded to know what I was doing there. You might want to make sure the people are informed that need to be. And here is the answer I sent him. Howdy doo. See as your fairly new at caching may I welcome you to the dementia. I see you have trouble finding my Rain Garden. First may I suggest you always read the cache page. It may save you some effort and headaches. The Rain Garden is not a normal cache. It is an Earth cache. There is no actual container there. What is there is information. On the cache page are a number of question that have to be answered. The answers are on the information board at the rain garden. You then email the answers to me before you log the cache. This link will take you to everything you could want to know about earth caches. http://www.earthcache.org/Then again if you would of read the cache page you would of known that I have permission from the Fire Chief and the fine people who actually built the Rain Garden. You also would of found that I have had trouble with people walking all over the garden which being exceedingly delicate is not a good thing. I had to ask everyone to stay off after being threatened with having to remove the cache because of the damage being caused. What people were doing was sitting on the rock getting their picture taken. Now that you know what these special earth caches are all about. (My favorite type by the way). Give it another try. then may I suggest you try my other Earth Cache. "Greenbush Kettle. GCZC69. If there is anything I can do please let me know. Thanks for listening. Now to go talk to the folks at the firehouse and try to explain all cachers are not idiots.

Always post a DNF. Just in case the cache is missing or someone put it in a bad place. We found a micro in a bush that was over 100 ft from GZ. The owner had to come and replace it where it belonged. That being said. Don't give up because you had some DNF's. Some of these caches are very cleaver. You get a few more under your belt you'll start thinking like a cacher. (Read that as slightly twisted with your hair growing in) Also using a phone isn't nearly as sensitive as a gps. So don't give up . Cache on.

Here is the final. Now find the cache where some kid won't wander off with it. And you don't want to look like the weird guy hanging around the playground.

Very cleaver people are involved in caching. Read the logs and you'll find everyone had to return to find this one. So much more satisfying than a park and grab.

When I end up over here, I try to turn around and go back as fast as possible. I'll be going back through Chicagoland around 1AM tonight. Got cache #4 today thanks to www.geotruckers.com .
