I thought the fight scene where the x agent was duplicating himself was overdone. But the movie was cool for the most part.

I bought it along with a bunch of other movies and have yet to watch it fully. I usally am posting on other boards and don't watch tv much. I did make it up to the point where neo and the others were in some sort of colony with huge doors. Hopefully I will get time to watch more of it.

Thanks for approving me Harold

Oh thank you. I have always rocked to the beat of a different drum.

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't

I just saw revolutions last night, but I haven't seen Reloaded. Could someone let me know about the thing with the architect? I know he built the matrix, but I know there's other details.

The first Matrix was perfect, as he said a work of art. But being that we are imperfect no one could accept it as reality so their was a cataclysmic system crash that killed whole crops of people. So he tried to model it after our violent history but again, it couldn't be accepted.
The Oracle came up with the idea that people could only accept their reality if they felt they had a choice in things, even if they were barely aware of the choice. The Matrix was redesigned with this new idea of choice and it resulted in 99.9% if the test subjects accepting it. So it was setup for everyone. The only problem is that even though it was perfectly programed by the Architect this illusion of choice created a program annomoly that would imbed itself into someone plugged into the Matrix that would give them total control over it. If this was left unchecked it would crash the entire system so they instituted another form of control: Religion or rather "The Prophesy".
This way they could control those who have left the Matrix and get The One back to the Source so that the annomolous code could be reinserted back into the Matrix and everything could be rebooted. This has happened 5 times already and this is the 6th. The idea of The Prophesy is to eventually lead the One back to the Architect so the source could be stripped from him. Neo is given a choice but as he points out, it's not much of a choice at all. THAT"S what makes people accept their reality: This concept of a choice that, regardless, we still have no REAL choice in the matter.
Anyway, Once the code is stripped from the One and reinserted into the matrix the matrix has to reboot. This will bring everything back to the beginning. Everything that has happened goes back in time. It's just one big loop. People's minds are wiped clean and so are the Agent's minds. That's why Smith has only a deja-vu feeling of doing what he did before all those other times he killed Neo.
After the code is stripped from Neo he can choose 21 people to take out of the Matrix and they will rebuild Zion and perpetuate the lie that is The Prophesy so that this all can happen the exact same way again.
If Neo walked through the other door then the annomolous code would be fully absorbed into Neo's brain instead of the Source's and he will need to be rebooted for it to take full effect. That's why he could control things outside the matrix and why he went into a coma. He needed to reboot.
Does this explain it a little better?

That's what I find hard to follow/accept. That humans can be programs in flesh in blood or that a program could "infect" a human's thought process.

They broke into a new realm of thought process of what *could* and couldn't happen with human and machine interaction....thus why I like the series and would have enjoyed the book much better!
