It's all about what I want to do with the machine. I want to play games on it and the MacBook Pro is more about having a very fast computer while having lots of battery time and more portability.
I looked into it and they only had a C2D, a 9600M GT, and 1440x900 screen. Mine will be i7, 280M GTX, and 1920x1080.
When configured, the MacBook Pro with the 3.06 GHZ C2D, and 500GB 7200RPM will end up costing about $600 more than mine, with way less graphics ability, less processor speed and less resolution.
All of this to give the MacBook Pro way more battery time and better portability. I never use a laptop more than a hour or two away from an outlet, so battery time and portability isn't such a priority. If that were not the case then the MacBook Pro would be better choice for me and I'd get it. As it is, the Sager NP8690 is right for me.

Will get it Tuesday, 11/24. I have quite a few games ready to install as well software. All of the stuff I installed on the old laptop I'm using now is still backed up on the NAS drive. I've upgraded my router to a Gigabit/Wireless N last week. Bought an ESATA enclosure for my current laptop drive so I can hook that directly up to the new laptop. Plan on putting the 120GB drive back in my old laptop and give the laptop away. I have a DVI connector for my external monitor. Also some better thermal paste for the laptop CPU/GPU to decrease the temps even more later on as needed.
So everything is set. I should have the laptop up and running by Tuesday night before work. I'll give my current laptop away the same day. Wednesday I'll install more games and do some benchmarks. Thursday I'll have off to enjoy thanksgiving and the new laptop.
Only thing left to do is to give the laptop a name. I'm thinking of naming it Trickster. Name it Mac That way you can please Joseph by telling him you have a Mac

No. I don't even trust my mother with that. Sent the laptop back because when I maxed out the cpu and gpu, after a while it would shut down. So I'm guessing the power supply. Once that gets fixed, it'll be perfect! Should have it back by January 27th. It's not such a problem now as even the best games don't max out both the cpu and gpu. But in a couple years that will probably change and would rather have it fixed now. Also no pictures will be posted. Either of me or the laptop. For we have established a bond now and I wouldn't want to take advantage of it so early into the relationship.
