I might have to ask for a GPS thing for my next birthday. This is starting to sound like it's fun.

We won't cache until Tuesday. I work all weekend and smokejumper is going out of town anyhow. He works Monday and we have an agreement that we don't cache solo so I guess that means Tuesday is the day. Hope the rainy weather goes away by then.

I've been out in my yard digging holes. Isn't that close to being geocaching?

You don't put rocks in a cache. Thats geo junk.

Bruce, Some people get it most don't
Harold contrary to what the tv showed on the csi or whatever it was caches are not buried.
This hobby is one you actually have to get out and do to see the fun of it.

So I'm not supposed to put a cache at the bottom of an eight inch diameter - four foot deep hole that got filled with cement?

Dang.

Two geocaches in this area were archived because they were made out of PVC pipe and poorly placed. The bomb squad was called they knew what they were but took precautions just in case.

Amy,
I know what geocaching is since I have looked it up when Bruce talked about it over on Leoville. One thing I don't know is your use of the word archive when you say a cache was achived.

Does this mean it was blown up or moved or take out of play since it got mistaken as a pipe bomb or do you mean it was logged by the law agency as a cache and hence the term archive?

It was temporarily taken out of play. They do that if the cache is missing, in bad repair, in a bad area etc.
