I'm not sure if it's me but both movies leave a lot to be desired. I wasn't a big fan of either show but watched enough to have certain expectations.
SATC was a watered down, chick flick version of the show. Ignoring the sex talk, I always thought that part of the show's appeal was the witty dialogue and most of that seemed to give way to pure romance. It was almost like a script from a trashy romance novel with the glowing, happy couple having to go through their obligatory hard times before they realise they truly love each other.
It wasn't horrible, but it could have and should have been better considering the hype. Keep an eye out for brief appearances by Carrie's friend Stanford Blatch and the "Poughkeepsie" scene......they were laugh out loud moments.
Get Smart has been grating so much that I've moved from the couch and am half watching it while I write this. The charm of the original show is just not there and even having The Rock there occasionally for me to look at isn't enough.
