Somebody needs to do something about the price of oil. I've got to go from here to Atlanta next week and in August. Between time and gas it's too expensive and airfare shot up dramatically overnight. There is no reason for a thirty minute flight to cost over four hundred dollars. And there is no reason why it should cost over a hundred dollars and eight hours of my day to drive it.

It should only be four hours drive and cost $35 each way.

The vehicle is an SUV and I'm guessing it gets around 15 miles per gallon. That brings the cost to $56 each way for a total of $116. And yes, it takes around four hours to drive in ideal conditions. Therefore, eight hours both ways. I will be coming back on a Friday afternoon, so traffic getting out of the metro area will likely add an hour or so.

That's like saying that your precious time is only worth $8.25 an hour. I'd just not go anywhere and get a job as a waitress. That's what I'd do.

The difference being that you are paying $8.25 an hour for the privilege of driving. Which doesn't include any other usage cost to the vehicle. Also estimating 30mpg. It's the same distance I travel to get to Philly.

You try and find someone who will ride you for $8.25 an hour.

You have to pay someone by the hour? That's sad.

More economical than paying by the week.

All I know is once you bite the bullet and make it there don't forget something you mean to do and have to go back again...

I don't mind the ride if I can stay a while before I come back, like when I come home. And unfortunately, this can't be done any day but July 11. I've already been sick and missed several days of class and that's why I really hate spending all day in the car for a two hour appointment.

All this is over a surgery that I am going to have to have, and I am going Friday for the pre-op evaluation so they can do the surgery on August 11. But I am really considering putting it off until Christmas break when I will be home long enough to do all the stuff that has to be done before and after a surgery. There is just one huge drawback to having this done at Christmas time and that's why I am having a hard time deciding whether or not to reschedule or go on as I had planned. Right now, though, I am leaning toward rescheduling because I am a bit nervous about having this done and then going back to school in five days. The surgery is simple enough--only one night in the hospital--but I would rather heal comfortably and peacefully on a long break at home.

Life is short it can be taken away right infront of your eyes. So stop playing games with the ones you love & tell them you love them/care for them, because in a blink of an eye you may not get the oppotunity to tell them how much they mean to you. LIFE IS TOO SHORT FOR REGRETS.

OH JOSEPH I just read back on previous post before mine. My post was no way related to you & I hope you dont read it as such. Im so sorry timing is just so wrong. My love & thoughts are with you. Please forgive me it is just a random thought related to my own chain of events.
