I stopped at one of our local pawn shops and brought home a new toy. It was cheap enough. It runs decent and I'll be changing the oil in it this weekend before it sees some serious ride time.

The only thing that I don't understand or care for is that it only likes to go in a straight line. It really fights with the steering. From what I can tell, it's a solid axle with no differential, so it is probably made this way.

It has a 4 speed automatic transmission with a low and high range. I flipped it to low range after I figured out what that was and it will probably stay there. It should still go plenty fast for us.

Lisa even rode it around the front yard. I think that she even likes it. I'll get some pix later, but they might not be needed if you know what I'm talking about here. wink

I don't really like it that much. Maybe Lisa and Kyle will get the hang of it.

I took it in for a tune up at the local dealer, and we have a two week wait and $400.00+ estimate for the work that needs done.

It needs a new chain, both sprockets, spark plug, the tune up, and maybe a few engine parts after I took out the cam chain adjuster instead of the engine oil drain plug. tongue

That will give you two weeks to clear a trail through the woods so you can go exploring biggrin

Just be careful these things don't do well when they find rocks.

They don't like ditches either. I put it nose up in the air and I sat down on the ground behind it already. I think I'll let Kyle and Lisa get all of the seat time on this thing.

Kyle ripped the frame where the engine and transmission bolt on. The engine is hanging lower now since it isn't supported correctly. I have some fancy welding to do on some thin sheet metal. I'd like to do it with a TIG welder, but all that I have is an acetylene torch set.

JB Weld and an atomic magnet. Place the atomic magnet on the other side of the crack and when you put the JB Weld on the top the electrons will align with the crack and strengthen that area.

Tral told me that when I ripped my underwear.

You can see a closeup of the ripped frame in this clip. I just talked to the shop mechanics at work and they can do the welding for me with their wire welder.
