I had it running on an old P3 that someone gave me. It only had 128 mgs of Ram and it ran great. The hard drive crapped out and I didn't want it on any of my good machines since I was going Mac and gave my alienware and the homebuilt to Mark.

I think that I may dual boot this thing when I upgrade the hard drive. It may be a little while... Ubuntu has a live cd version I think that you can boot from without installing it on the hard drive

I tried that but so far it's not booting from a CD. I think my bios is goofed up. You need to go in your bios and tell it to boot from your cd first. Most of the time the boot up sequence is set to boot from the disk drive first by default

Yeah, I think that the old floppy is the first to try, but it will pause to read if I have a DVD in the drive. It carries on when there isn't nothing bootable on the DVD. It doesn't treat CD's that way. It acts like it doesn't even try... Check the cd image Tor, if you burnt the ubuntu file as a single .iso file on the cd instead for using a burning program to extract and burn the contents of the iso, that could be the problem too
