I wish they were perfect. The collector loved them and he rewarded us for them. Now I am on a mission to find out what happened to the large posters, they are worth mega bucks!!!!

Harold I thought I had to resize them to get them to the photo gallery?

Harold looks so happy behind the bar. Harold you can tend bar here any time you feel like it
I always tell people to walk through their daily life and plan what they would like to be able to do. One of the things that I have always wanted to do was put in a place for women to sit and put on their make up. A vanity mirror with multiple light settings. That seems to be a thing of the past.
The last floorplans I designed for other houses have had walk in closets. I love fireplaces. Thats a must have for me. One of the great things about this place is that there are many different areas to hang out in.

Update the kitchen with all stainless and granite counter tops. Then do the bathrooms. Then the rest of the house. Then add a 100x100 attached garage/workshop with 16 foot high doors so you can work on your combine and earthmoving equipment.

Yes folks, all of these things can be yours!!!!

How, you say? Just follow these simple steps that Trallyus has developed and you too can have all of these things.

STEP 1. Completely emerse your right hand into a jar of penut
butter. Now hold it above your head and say " I fear
nothing"

STEP 2. With your free hand drive to the nearest 7-11 and
pick up a roll of paper towels.

STEP 3. Now drive to the nearest zoo.

STEP 4. While holding the paper towels under your left
arm, insert your right arm through the cage that says
BEARS.

STEP 5. Break the jar on the ground and start yelling " Bears
Suck"

Step 6. When the bear comes over, repeat " I fear Nothing"

Step 7. When you wake up you will only have one hand. The good
news is that you will recieve enough money from your
insurance and all of that media attention that you
will be able to afford all of the things you always
wanted. You will also recieve a new bionic hand and
be able to go on secret missions now and then.

After seeing the picture...

I would add a two car garage where your car is parked with a master bedroom and bath above.

Looks like stucco, if so, it could be matched fairly well and painted to look like it was alway there.

I'd lose the one awning you have. It doesn't match the style of house you have and I'd make the 3 windows in the front bay windows or just a different type of window all together. The garage idea is nice too. I'd attatch it right at that rear side door. Looks like a good buy.

I didn't tell you that I got the lot next door to the right of the driveway as well. it was part of the property.

Amy, I agree about the awnings. The front of the house was all open porch when it was built. There is a large stained glass window in front along with a beautiful craftsman style door.

Dave, I am already making plans to build a double garage off to the right. There is a Chineese Elm that is very beautiful on the right side of the driveway where our jeep is. I want to curve the driveway around the tree and enter the garage. I can add on to the North end of the house and connect there.

Tral, that is all that craftsman charm that was why they were so popular back in the twenties.

Yeah, I am trying to get a feel for what it was like to build this house in 1923 and put all of these neat things in here. It's as if they combined homes built from Califonia with Craftsman style and kicked it up a notch.

I grew up in a house built during WWII. The lack of material showed. The man who built it worked for the rail road and he built it from old box cars!

You got a good deal on that house. I notice what looks to be hardwood floors. Are they in good shape? One thing I noticed that I hate is when people paint woodwork. Its so hard to get it off. But everyone has different tastes and it doesn't look like any of that wood work has ornate scrolls in it.

Here you go Amy, When we first looked at this house there was carpet covering all of the floors except the kitchen and bathroom. When we pulled the carpet back this is what we found throught the whole house.

through out condensed to throught. see this is what text messaging will do to ya.

All of the trim was painted already. I am the same way. I love the look of wood grain and would never paint over it.

It's crazy some of the things people used to do.

My Uncle Bob, passed away many years ago, built a new house. The builder put wall to wall carpet in the bedrooms (3) and living room. Uncle Bob had them take the carpet up, cut it and lay it in the rooms so it looked like a rug laying on a wood floor. He had them leave about a foot of the wood showing all around the room.

That was the way their house looked when he grew up, so that was the way he wanted his new house to look too.

Hardwood floors are nice. We have them in the bedrooms but we are going to be covering them up when we get the money. The floors are in not so great shape and its cheaper and easier to just carpet. I really like Gorts house. He got a great deal on it. I'm not sure how much work it needs (plumbing, electrical, etc.) but it looks like doing a few minor things like taking down awnings and personalizing it and he has a keeper.

I found out last night that my older brother finally bought a house. He got a 4 bedroom 2 bath house in Florida cheaper than what we paid for our 2 bedroom no basement one bath house. I have to admit that while I'm happy for him I'm secretly jealous. I'm also a little embarrased at how much nicer his house is.

Dave, its funny that you mentioned the one foot area around the carpet. When I was a little kid I remember the same thing in our first house.

About the ony hard thing that this house needs is a new roof. they just shingled over the shakes. The rest of the stuff is minor. I say that because the only thing I can't do is electrical. I can do it but then you have to deal with the codes and the inspectors. I am not up to speed with some of the reasons for the codes.

My mother's house still has the carpet covering most of the polished floors. Personally I think it defeats the purpose of having nice floors.

Years ago, when I lived on base at Griffiss AFB, we lived in a 6-plex that had hardwood floors. There was something wrong with the finish and it began to flake off really bad. Maintenence had to come in and completely redo the floors. We had to move everything out on to the lawn and put plastic over it. I covered everything with rugs to protect it after that.

Here is a shot of the bath tub area, notice the alcove above the tub and the wire where the light was years ago. I am putting in a rain head shower there because of the curved walls. The bathroom is between the two bedrooms. This was something common that I found in floorplans back in the twenties.

It's sideways. The gray granules are insulation on the bottom side. The posters are between the vertical two by fours.

Nope, that one is right side up.Sorry for the sideways stuff.

I went to the courthouse and researched the deeds and the first land transfer on ths property was 1913. I am guessing that the house was built then, not 1923 like I was told.

I am waiting to here from someone who knows about Craftsman style homes. I still am confused about the alcove over the tub. All of the people that I have talked too about this house say that there has never been any real remodeling done and the kitchen counter and sink, and the sink and toilet in the bathroom are the only things changed. I haven't pinned down when the porch was enclosed, but I will.
