Man, my friend ended up with 4 tiny little kittens. The pet store wouldn't take them because they were under two pounds, and the pound was going to put them to sleep. I of course took the little runt with the gooey eye. It wouldn't eat normal food at first so I got stuck feeding it milk crap out of an eye dropper (until I caught it eating my blueberry muffin). Then she wouldn't go poo! I thought I was going to have to do the washrag trick. Ugh... Now I have to come up with a way to pay the deposit and stuff for having an animal in here. She shouldn't count, she's so small! I'mna go put pics up on my blog and whatnot. If I can figure it out :P. Shes so tinnyyy... I hope she makes it!

I named her Gooey... got geeky and made it Gui... Whichever haha... Her eye was all crusty from being infected. It's better now... or getting there anyways.

Hey does anyone have any ideas for toys for her? I don't have anything for her to play with and she doesn't seem to want to play with that stupid toilet paper roll. I thought all cats liked those! Of course the toilet paper roll is bigger than her... But still... If I don't find something for her to play with soon she's going to have me torn to shreds!

Try looking for one of those little cloth mouses filled with catnip as our little kitten has one and loves beating the heck out of it \:D

It wont get it stoned since the catnip is sewed inside the toy \:p It will just make her beat the toy up over ripping the toilet paper to shreds \:p

Another cheap option is to get a plastic shopping bag and make it straight and then tie knots in it till it's the size of a small ball. Kittens love the noise of the plastic and it's light enough for little ones to throw around.

Kittens love Crinkle balls and I'd buy her one of these She can sleep in it and play on it. Walmart has them cheaper.

I've always called catnip kitty marijuana. However, some cats don't react to it.

My old cat actually didn't like catnip for the longest time. Hated it actually. A bit odd. She changed her tune eventually. \:p I found um... some easter eggs I had laying around. I don't think she wants to play. I put jingly things in them even! She just wants to bug me I think. I think she's just in need of attention from something living. I would be too if I got separated from my other fuzzy wuzzies.

Oh and she made another poopy! I'm so proud! She did it all by herself! And her eye is getting better, I might have to think of another name. She keeps biting me, I could call her chewy... Hmm. Close to the same.

Hey she just started gnawing on the tp roll! Wait, I don't want her to bite it, I want her to roll it. If she starts biting it that'll start bad behaviors. Crap... hold on, how do you tell a cat 'no' when they don't even understand their own name yet?

Squirt guns help when they are that young as cats usally don't like water. Remember to say no when/if you use a squirt gun so it associates that word with bad behavior.

Why do I never see her drinking water? There's hardly a dent in her water dish and this is the third day I've had her. The amount that's gone could be explained by my clumsy ass spilling it. I've been giving her the milk replacement mostly to make sure she gets some kind of liquid in her. It's not a lot, so I know she should be drinking some water yet. I swear I've had cats before, I do know what I'm doing haha... Kittens are just so different. A few pounds/weeks can make such a difference in development... hmm.

Oh! But she took another poopy! Haha. (I don't want her to get dehydrated....)

Some cats don't drink alot of water \:\) I know my big cat never or rarely drinks water but our kitten does \:\) You may have to show it what water is.

You take your finger and put it in the water and move it around and then touch the kittens mouth with your wet finger and see if it starts licking your finger or its mouth. Do this a few times and it will know what water is.

Well it had no problem finding out what a blueberry muffin was... or a baked potato.... or mac and cheese.... and it had no problem stepping in it \:p lol I'll try it. I'll keep giving it some milk suppliment too (mostly because I don't want that $5 crap to go to waste, ugh) *sigh*

Okay I take all that back, I just saw her trying to drink water and I see why she doesnt do it often hahahahahahahha... oh my she tries to 'eat' the water... sticks half her face in, attempts to suck or chomp or something like that the water up, quickly pulls her face up when it doesn't work, then licks the remaining water off her face. Too cute haha...

I bought some solid food today. Think she'll eat it? I moistened it with some water and whatnot... I saw her sopping up the wet stuff. Maybe I should have had dry food available to her this whole time but my friend just kept telling me "she can't eat dry food yet!!!" I just don't want to get her hooked on wet food because I can't afford to keep feeding her that... Hmm... I guess we'll find out.

You should always have dry food out for kittens because they'll eat them when they're ready. I've been surprised at how soon some of them will eat them.

How old is she?

Uhh she was born March 17th (so the woman said...) which would make her um... 2 months? I know my old cat Nerb was eating moist dry food when we first got him and he was really young too, but for some reason I thought she might be younger. Oh well. I have it now, and I think she was eating it. I wish I would have gotten the other kind though, you know, the X shaped kind, it would have broken apart easier for her. Eh, as much as she's been chewing on me she needs something to grind those little baby teeth that are coming in on. Grrr.

More than 2 months, she should be able to eat dry food without a problem.
I made the mistake of giving kittens some of the gourmet dry food I buy as a treat occasionally and from then on that's all they wanted.

She disappeared. I know she was here when I went to the store. She isn't here now. I was only gone for 20 minutes or so... Ughh! I don't think she got out... I'm pretty sure I would have seen her sneak past me. Anyone got any tips for finding her? Blahhh!! I swear I've looked everywhere she could hide... \:\(

Check closets and closed rooms as well as hidey holes like cupboards , under couches ,etc \:p

Try pouring some food for her and seeing if she comes running \:\)

Oh.... yeah I found her sorry... lol.... she was sleeping under the couch. I didn't think she could get all squeezed up under there. Actually I just saw her back legs when I moved the couch and I thought she was dead. I pulled a superwoman and yanked the couch up quick and she looked up and me like "what?" I got so mad, one of the couch's wheels fell off and I couldn't lift it high enough to get it back on haha...

Umm pics'll come in a bit... I gotta figure out how the hell to do it somewhere somehow and I'm tired as hell... it may be tomorrow if I fall asleep \:p

We had one that used to get into the back of the fridge which really freaked me out. I had to turn the fridge off just in case I got fried trying to extract it from the wires etc.

Is absinthe available in Australia? I'd love to try it, but I think I remember that it cannot be sold in the U.S. because it can be harmful if it isn't made properly.

Cute kitten. I found two kittens at the store that would have cost me $59 for the pair and Tom said "No" \:\( Angel wouldn't have liked them coming home anyhow. The one looked like it never ate. I just wanted to feed it and cuddle it.

She is just a baby. All that, the playing with toys and drinking water and all will come in time. Just snuggle her and love her as she grows... and post more pictures \:\)

You know what we found that was kinda cool? Soap bubbles. They have no idea what they are, and they make a formula with catnip in it. We found ours in the pet area of the small grocery store in town.
