Dsl at home is 600 down/160 up for $50/month.

That seems expensive. AT&T charges $42.95 for a 6 Mbps/512 Kbps connection, in this area.

I pay $54.00 a month for my Cox Cable ( Internet only ) as I dont use their digital phone service or their Cable TV service .

It's my only hardwired choice. I wouldn't want to trust the wireless services around here when I close the board and do an update.

I pay around $140 a month, that includes cable tv with two cable boxes (ones a dvr), unlimited long distance phone package (cheaper than ATT)and internet cable. I started this thread to compare speeds with others and myself. My internet speed changes alot. Its rarely slower than it was this morning.

why I pay $143 is because of Digital telephone. before I had digital telephone, my bill was only $80 something, but I think its like $89 now, comcast is always hiking the prices up. plus thats $4 monthly rental fee too.

although since they came out here, I've seen it spike up to close to 10mbps during peek hours. Usually its around 14mbps when they come out here, but then by next day throttles back to between 6 and 7. They should just leave it at 14 if you ask me, but they said our max signal strength here is 14.

we love digital voice though, kurlylox can call her mom, pern can call her dad, and I can call my mom, without having to worry about long distance charges.

besides, its still cheaper then the $200 I was paying at Earthlink. The internet was $49.95/mo, but the telephone bill was still up to that $200 mark. We found cable to be cheaper for that reason, but I'd rather go for vonage if they were in this area.

sucks too, cuz Plymouth is not even 20 minutes from here, and vonage serves them, but not us plymouth is still long distance to us. my brother inlaw says I should just get a ft wayne number, but then, our next door neighbor would have to call long distance, which would suck in some ways.
