When I was wide awake at 4 this morning, it dawned on me that we will most likely live to be a very ripe old age. The reason I feel this is because as long as we have this site, I have someplace to go and use my mind in a way that will keep me active and alert for a long time. It also dawned on me that the sun was not up yet and I was making too much noise. In all seriousness I do think that we have something special here and it will be archived and studied for centurys to come as the reason that we all are old crazy people with sharp minds.

Now. Kris has a very important point. Just think there might be a bunch of creatures posting to each other like "farknar is under the spootnot" in some far away place or even in another dimension that is parralel to the street.
Can I have some more eggnog?

Grey matter is a major component of the central nervous system, consisting of nerve cell bodies, glial cells (astroglia and oligodendrocytes), capillaries, and short nerve cell extensions/processes (axons and dendrites).

Going to see what Dark Matter is-be back
In astrophysics, dark matter is matter that does not emit or reflect enough electromagnetic radiation to be detected directly, but whose presence may be inferred from its gravitational effects on visible matter. Among the observed phenomena consistent with the existence of dark matter are the rotational speeds of galaxies and orbital velocities of galaxies in clusters, gravitational lensing of background objects by galaxy clusters such as the Bullet cluster, and the temperature distribution of hot gas in galaxies and clusters of galaxies. Dark matter also plays a central role in structure formation and Big Bang nucleosynthesis, and has measurable effects on the anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background. All these lines of evidence suggest that galaxies, clusters of galaxies, and the universe as a whole contain far more matter than is directly observable, indicating that the remainder is dark.

My Grey Matter is a little fuzzy after the trip to the bar last night.
Ann, have you ever heard of any studies relating to the killing of brain cells from alcohol as to those who do not imbibe the stuff. I am thinking about this as kind of a scientific point of view. Do the people who consume alcohol on a regular basis, but not to the point real damage, have a different brain because of the regeneration of brain cells? As opposed to the natural death of brain cells in a person who does not drink. I think it makes room for all of the cool stuff in my head!

My seventh grade teacher was where I heard that for the first time. Thats what made me think of it. So at what point do you kill more brain cells with alcohol than are regenerated normally. If you don't drink does you head explode someday? This could be the answer to instantaneous combustion in humans.
So if brain cells do not regenerate, how do we live so long?
