RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- The turnaround is complete, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. is back in Victory Lane.

Coming off the worst season of his career, Earnhardt ended a 27-race winless streak Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway with a victory that proves just how far his team has come since missing out on the Chase for the Nextel Cup last year.

"I think we are there,'' he said. "We keep taking our shots, but we're pretty competitive. Everything is working really great. I couldn't ask for any position on this team to be any better.

"I'm just glad to be back in Victory Lane. It feels really great.''

I am one of those who can't get the race this week. They put it where they know some people can't get it. So the race this week will never happen for me.

I do not like this race. If they actually raced it would be ok. Never was a fan of talking heads. Too much time to fill, and too much cutie crap. "Now we would like to introduce you to Ed. He is the next door neighbor of Bill. Who once actually saw Richard Petty's hauler." Over three and a half hours of tv time and maybe 40 minutes of actual racing. Not for me. Sorry.

I can't believe that I'M saying this, but I'm really bored by this All-Star race tonite. I was happy with the Open race in the fact that Scott Riggs won and made his way in to the open. The driver intros were BORING. In the past, I think they've been more exciting. And these announcers are annoying me more than they usually do. Or maybe I'm just upset that Martin Truex Jr didn't run well in the Open race and that he didn't win the fan vote. I won't way any more about the fan vote ... I've very upset about how things went with that.

It's ok, it's more for the drivers rather than the fans. It's a big money maker.
