I have been watching the most beautiful buck come visit every morning lately it seems he has either 16 or 18 points couldn't tell if he had two small prongs on the inside. However, he comes within 12 feet of my window and he could be 400 pounds.

...Unfortunately he comes with a large group and most of them look underfed. This is why he mmust unfortunatly be some smart hunter's prey this year. He consumes enough to feed 3 doe's. Smart management will lead to healthier larger deer populations.

You should try to get a picture of him and post it here immediately. That's an...request?

I don't have a good digital camera as I loaned it to my parents. They went on vacation for a week. The deer may be out of rut by then. But I have been baiting them with sweet16 horse feed so maybe they will continue to come thru this route. I need one of those cameras you mount on a tree.

I have had deer in my yard for the last few days. As soon as I go out-off they go.

These don't run till you get within 35 feet or try to circle around them. If you walk right towards them they just perk up. They think I'm gonna throw out more horse feed or on my way to let the animals out of the barn which they will flock with for a while.

That is awesome. Deer are very beautiful and awe inspiring. Here is a shot that I took while on a little visit to Land Between The Lakes in KY. There were two of these little babies and they didn't care much that I was there photographing them. I was about 100 feet from them.
