I believe this thread was started before there was a gaming forum.

Almost done with the clean up at the docs for the Neverwinter city watch. Usually people just send you on one quest before they give you what you want. These guys flat out use you up.

Time to spend some overdue time managing my inventory.

New patch was released tonight Jbone
Neverwinter Nights 2 – Version 1.02 Patch Notes

This patch is a hot fix to address issues reported by the community where cutscenes and scripted events did not seem to fire correctly when a companion character was being controlled.

What video card are you using as my cousin is having the same problem and has updating your video driver fixed the problem? Also are your settings above 1024x768?

Using a Radeon 9800XT 256MB ram. I updated to the latest drivers last night because of another issue, running the 6.10 catalysts now. Sure enough when the bard joined the party the camera was behind a bush, or weeds or something of the like. The top of the screen cut off just above his knees.

Also are your patches up to date as they should be set to "Your game version is 1.02" and "Nwupdate version 1.04"

The numbers show up when you update the game like so

Not with the intro, it plays just fine. Just a couple of times the camera seems as though the camera man left it sitting on the ground and went to have a smoke. At Shaunna's farm, and then when the gnome bard joins the party. And I think it may have happened one other time too. Can't remember right now. It doesn't seem to be for the whole scene though. Just a portion of it.

At the farm was when the characters heads didn't show up in the cut scene. Thats when I decided to update the drivers. Just didn't get around to it till last night.

If it happens again I'll try to grab a screenie of it. I have the settings turned up pretty good. That may be an issue for this old card. Its just a small issue for now, if it gets out of hand I may try the auto detect.

What graphic card would you recommend for an upgrade Jbone? Currently I have a ATI Radeon 9700 Pro that came with the computer

I don't want to step in that one too hard, havn't done a lot of research on them lately. Personally I'm going back to an Nvidia card this time. The ATI has been really picky about what games I run with what driver. Sometimes an older driver works, on a different game the newest one works well. And there's the occasional re-boot in the middle of the game, when the computer comes back on it tells me that the system has recovered from a serious error. So I send the error report to Microsoft, and it opens a web page telling me to contact ATI for support, that their driver caused the error. So I've decided to go back to Nvidia. Don't get me wrong, the 9800XT has been an awesome card, just more trouble than I hoped for.

I'm after a 7800GS, from what I have read it was the last fastest AGP card made. But you can get into the 7600 series Geforce AGP cards for just over $100. That may not be too bad of an upgrade if you don't want to spend over $200. Which ever one you choose, google for some reviews. Usually you'll find good info at tomshardware.com, but they aren't the only ones where you can get good hardware reviews.

Looks like the main difference is that with the 7800 you get the 2 extra pixel pipelines. Those 7600GT's look pretty sweet. Those clock speeds are screamin, and you get 256MB of DDR3 in the deal too. Its almost $200 but I bet its worth it.

Started playing a little again last nights. After a couple of nights off from being sick. The city watch sent me to find a missing emissary. Darned if I didn't stumble into another side mission.

Can't wait to get done with these city watch missions. I'm dying to get into Blacklake and find something out about these shards.
