Harold Registered: 10/25/03 Posts: 17574 Loc: Defiance, Ohio	This is the advance notice that Dizzy and others have requested : We will be moving this board from this address to www.forum.haroldandrews.com this weekend. Will be done either early on Saturday or Sunday morning. I'm satisfied that the importer to upgrade us to version 7 is going to work without losing any posts or PMs. Also at this time, all logged in members can reply here instead of having to discuss these topics in another thread in the input forum. _________________________

Then it will reopen in read only format. Any PMs sent and received on this board after going into read only mode will be lost in a month or two when this board, the testforum, and the importest will be deleted. All images attached here will remain along with the current graemlins so all old posts stay as they are. The betaboard will remain up and open. Stop in there for updates to the running on the importer tool. I'm expecting to be running the importer from 5AM to 8AM Sunday morning. Will open up as soon as possible and then I'll be adding stylesheets and hacking it up to my and our personal tastes. www.haroldandrews.com/betaforum _________________________

We have another 40,000 posts made on our current database since I put up the clone at the testboard. So I'm thinking in the early morning on Sunday should be no more that three hours. The importer abuses the server. Before the test, server load was .5, during the test it spiked up to 4. If I had run the test on the old server, it would have died. The new server admin/owner that works with Josh watched the test with me the other night and he wants to watch the importer run this weekend too. _________________________

I really do not know where you live exactly. I wouldn't want them to travel all the way there and not have a place to stay or at least make you feel uncomfortable for not allowing them to impose on you for a few nights or weeks.

Though one has to wonder if it is possible to suffocate given all that much money and that you wouldn't really be swimming in it unless there is a lot of it and it is packed pretty well. Then again diving into it would be kind of tricky and the whole logistics of it staying in there given a reasonably gusty wind or many other things. Then you have to wonder, what would skinny dipping do to the value of that money. Make it more valuable or way less.. Strike that! I was merely kidding about that. Don't want any paparazzi stalking me waiting for that shot.

They would all be lost unless I nuke everything here and install version 7 over what we have here. I wasn't wanting to delete this here right away. _________________________

Use the import and not be able to get the attachments. Do the import and hope they issue a fix for the attachment bug and you'll be able to apply those attachments retroactively. Hold off on updating until someone fixes the importer bug. You just have to ask yourself what is more important.. Old attachments, using the new software or keeping the old board.
