I forgot to mention the duration of the downtime. It's expected to be somewhere between 3 and 36 hours.

Also, please make sure you know your login and password. You will need them to get into the new board. And your real email that the board needs to know to send you notices needs to be working if you need a new temporary password sent to you.

Up to 36 hours?! Cruel and unusual punishment I say!

Also to note. This board as we know it will remain closed until we are sure the new board is functioning as it should. Then it will reopen in read only format. Any PMs sent and received on this board after going into read only mode will be lost in a month or two when this board, the testforum, and the importest will be deleted. All images attached here will remain along with the current graemlins so all old posts stay as they are.

The betaboard will remain up and open. Stop in there for updates to the running on the importer tool. I'm expecting to be running the importer from 5AM to 8AM Sunday morning. Will open up as soon as possible and then I'll be adding stylesheets and hacking it up to my and our personal tastes.

Yes. I hope so too. The import test ran two full hours. We have another 40,000 posts made on our current database since I put up the clone at the testboard. So I'm thinking in the early morning on Sunday should be no more that three hours. The importer abuses the server. Before the test, server load was .5, during the test it spiked up to 4. If I had run the test on the old server, it would have died. The new server admin/owner that works with Josh watched the test with me the other night and he wants to watch the importer run this weekend too.

Your early Sunday morning is my Sunday afternoon and may just annoy me greatly.
