Looks like Stephen Kings son is writing like his dad Heart-Shaped Box A Novel by Joe Hill For a thousand dollars, Jude will become the proud owner of a dead man's suit, said to be haunted by a restless spirit. He isn't afraid. But what UPS delivers to his door in a black heart-shaped box is no imaginary or metaphorical ghost, no benign conversation piece. It's the real thing.

If your a Scott Sigler fan, he released his book called "Ancestor" as a free pdf. You can download it at http://media.libsyn.com/media/scottsigler/Ancestor_ScottSigler.pdfPodiobooks has an audio version of the book read by Scott at http://www.podiobooks.com/podiobooks/book.php?ID=85Scientists struggle to solve the problem of xenotransplantation -- using animal tissue to replace failing human organs. Funded by the biotech firm Genada, Dr. Claus Rhumkorrf seeks to recreate the ancestor of all mammals. By getting back to the root of our creation, Rhumkorrf hopes to create an animal with human internal organs. Rhumkorrf discovers the ancestor, but it is not the small, harmless creature he envisions. His genius gives birth to a fast-growing evil that nature eradicated 250 million years ago -- an evil now on the loose, and very, very hungry.

A friend of mine got me a giant SCE novel called Aftermath, and it was amazing.

A friend of mine got me a giant SCE novel called Aftermath, and it was amazing. I really like the SCE novels the more of them I read The first one I read came with my palm Tungsten E2 ereader software I forget the name of it but posted it when I was reading it either here or on my blog I love that they have to back engineer new technology in hopes the federation can use it If that was incorporated in the star trek universe more I probably would be watching it more

I just started reading Khaled Hosseini's latest, A Thousand Splendid Suns. This already looks like it will be another beautiful story, like The Kite Runner.

A Thousand Splendid Suns was an excellent book. Unlike The Kite Runner, this book wasn't heavy with the theme of self-redemption. Instead, it is a beautiful story of an unlikely friendship between two Afghan women and their lives before, during, and after the Taliban overtook Afghanistan. It is overwhelmingly sad, at some points, and an utter joy at others. Khaled Hosseini is a truly gifted writer. I do hope that he decides to write a third book. Read this book. I seriously doubt that you'll be disappointed.

My copy of Thomas Harris' Hannibal came, today. I'm about one-quarter through it, and I should say that I am enjoying it far more than the movie. Though, the whole notion of Mason Verger and the pigs is a bit ridiculous compared to how wonderfully realistic Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs seemed. All in all, though, Harris still does well at getting into the reader's brain. Dr. Lecter never bothered me when he was young or in a cage, but reading about a free Dr. Lecter has me a little nervous walking down dark hallways.

The book is better than the movie, even though I did enjoy the movie. The end of the book, though it was smart, I was kinda glad they changed it for the movie.

Parts of the book, to me, were slightly nauseating. For the vast majority of the book, though, I enjoyed it.
Now, to the good part. (I will try to be vague so that I don't spoil the ending.) After the initial drugs and hypnosis, was Clarice's decision made of her own volition? Maybe that was all the time a skillful person would need? Maybe, after time, she really was acting on her own free will? I'm not quite sure. Is Dr. Lecter a true sociopath, or is he capable of love? Maybe what could be seen, on the surface, as love is only the kind of amusement a selfish child would find in a pet. I am not sure of that, either.
