Since Lisa found a new hobby of going to the county fair every summer, she decided she wanted her own accomodations instead of borrowing a popup camper trailer. I thought I was making headway towards talking her into a new tent or a cheapo pickup slide-in camper, but she found something more her style.

So what should a 30 year old camper like this one be worth?

I'd wait until the last moment and bid twenty dollars. Seriously though, no idea. It looks nice and is probably bigger than some people's homes. By people I mean little people. That didn't come out right.

Anyway, I'd probably go as high as 800, though if you snipe that bid you wouldn't have to go as high as probably 620.

I doesn't look too shabby, for an old tin can. I'd buy it, if I were a fairgoer in a town without hotels.

We just committed to our high bid. Now to leave it alone and see if it sticks.

I saw that. But what I also saw is that the person pulled his sale. It was at the bottom of the bids link. Did I see something wrong?

Youll probably get it Harold as I read "On Sep-03-06 at 17:10:17 PDT, seller added the following information:

We DID discover a weak spot on the back floor where 2nd table sets." so that may keep others from bidding too high.

That was a bid retraction because of what Trally just quoted. Means a three hour oneway trip to Dayton if we get it. The same seller sold a 1971 for even more. Something like 1,400 or so. Lisa's friend that we borrowed the popup from paid $2,500, but it was also a bit newer.

It went cheaper than what I thought it would. Now if the Paypal deal would work so I can pay.

Got it home in the driveway and I'll try to get pictures tomorrow. This thing needs a bunch of work done on it.

First thing you do is cut a 11 9/16 hole in the very center of the floor.

There now you have a toilet. Any other problems you need help with just call.

Looks pretty darned good. You'd expect some leaking or weak spots for something that old but overall it looks like a very decent camper. If we had one like that we'd go out camping more often.

Lisa is cleaning up the camper. I'll try to get you some pictures next weekend. It did have leaks. We will be replacing some of the ceiling and floor. None of the marker/stop/turn signals were working so I'll get to throw on a fresh set of chicken lights so we can show off. Didn't have any propane tanks and I don't think I'm going to bother with it. I talked Lisa into getting an electric hotplate and we'll also take along our propane grill. The fridge works and the 120 volt interior lights. That's about it.
