Score!!!! I went to my library, which happens to be one of the worst in the system, and found John Adams by David McCullogh. Right now I'm listening to "The Know it All" by A J Jacobs. Its funny as all heck. I downloaded that from audible.com The cds from the library work but for some reason they don't go into the audiobook portion of the ipod so I have to remember where I left off. Thanks for the link I'm checking it out now.

Only bought audiobooks end up in the premade audiobook list If you want, you can create a playlist called *Audiobook and copy your cd audiobook rips to that and it should do the same thing Try ripping the cds in aac format as opposed to mp3 format as I think aac format is book markable.

Playlists are just lists containing your mp3s - they do not keep your place in the book that i know of.

I doubt that will work. Audible books are in their own format, IIRC. They're not encoded in MP3.

Are you encoding that in AAC or MP3? I did not know one could mark points for playback in MP3 format.

I just looked, and it can be done with MP3 files, too. I've learned something new, today.

I don't actually use iTunes to encode audio. I read, somewhere, that the encoding engine wasn't very good. I use LAME, instead (MP3 at 320kpbs).
