Our world seems often to be at the mercy of the forces of evil. We’ve learned to fear the sudden, unexpected violence that can strike close to home. Where do we find hope?

As Christians, our answer comes in the Scriptures we read during the Advent season. In the first reading today, Isaiah utters a hope-filled prayer, imploring God to intervene in our world. “Watchful waiting” is the command of Jesus in Mark’s Gospel today, and we might ask ourselves: “Why wait and watch, unless we also have some hope that God will indeed intervene in our world?”

But isn’t that the way Christians are to be? We’re a people who lives in the world, and yet awaits God’s revelation of a new and glorious world to come. To live that way means transforming our relationships with one another and with the world around us. It means making choices that reflect the life that Christ has given each of us. Such a life is better than any fantasy story might promise.

Haha! No no no. I don't BELONG to any denomination least of all LEAD a denomination.

We were watching something on TV last night and there was a comercial for the news at 11 and it was showing pictures of Christmas trees and it said, I kid you not, "Something in your home may make you sick. What it is may surprise you." You can't do anything without them telling you it'll kill you. It seems to me that they are all now going on and on about things "Making you sick" to soften the blow when people start getting sick from some planned release disease...bird flu anyone?

Why are they making a big deal about bird flu when it has only killed 65 people in the last 3 YEARS and the regular flu, according to the CDC website, kills over 36,000 people a year? http://www.cdc.gov/flu/keyfacts.htm

Can you imagine the force fed panic the government and media would feed you if 36,000 people died from the bird flu? Why isn't there a panic over the regular flu? If any government can keep you in fear they can control you.

Yep terrorist all of em.
I think our Thanksgiving turkey died with that flu.lol
