Living near Oshkosh allows me to go up there and do volunteer work in the hanger year round. In the break area they always have donuts, coffee, soft drinks, etc. Then if your there at lunch time they always buy lunch for everybody.

One Saturday Roz went with me. After a few hours of working on an aircraft she went to take a break. A couple of hours later I found her talking to a couple of gentlemen over a cup of coffee. One was Paul Poberezny the founder of EAA, and the other was Gen Chuck Yeager. You never know who your going to meet.

Very nice--lucky Roz.

There's a lake near here named after Yeager. But that story won't beat Roz's.

As long as they weren't trying to get her to join the mile high club then that's very cool.

Yes. I don't know how practical they could be.

Where I see the advantage is in the rural areas using the air ambulance. The idea that you could take off and start operating on someone might be just what the doctor ordered.As soon as I saw the clip on CNN, I went to work on this. I have been in touch with them and they are very interested in applying this to the U.S. EMS associations, and medical air transport associations. I have also been working on a commuter park here where people can catch a flight to work.

As long as they are professional pilots I'd be okay with it. How long will it be before people start buying personal craft? As you watch people drive a car you know most have trouble going forward, backward, left and right. Now add a third dimension of up and down to the mix and I'll be hiding under the bed.

I have always had the dream of building my own helicopter ( 1-2 person small kind ) to get to and from work .

I've had the same idea of having one of those helicopters. A couple of my cousins have their own small planes.

I like the idea that these AVCEN aircraft can take off and land in 410 feet

That's a sexy little plane. 500+ Euros per hour operating cost is just a little steep for me. The 800 mile range is a little short too.

The whole concept came from the traffic jams they are experiencing there and it was an economic development group that came up with the idea of creating an air taxi. So the short range more passenger concept is what they went with. Just wait till Trally gets this water fuel thing perfected. I hear he is already folding in the bathroom.

As freaky as it seems this thing does work. They have more R&D to do though.

That guy has been working on that for so many years it isnt funny .
Its a cool concept alright , I read he was having one heck of a time getting it to pass all the regulations he almost gave up .
FCC was giving him a hell of a time with it .
I would want one for sure , as long I was the only one in town that had one , and knew some other idiot wasnt flying around in one too

I want a car where I input the destination and it takes me there no questions asked. That's right, nothing worse than a overly social car computer that keeps wanting to ask you questions. Such as: "Why am I here, where am I going.. Do I dream?" It is here to take me somewhere, it is going where I tell it. I'm not sure if it dreams. If it dreams about taking me places without asking all those pesky questions, then dream away.

Just make sure your car isn't powered by windows. It'll keep crashing, need to be rebooted or badger you with "are you sure?" messages.

I do not ever want to be in a car that drives itself.

I work with the FAA on a daily basis, I know what a pain they can be when it comes to putting a new idea across their desk and getting them to bite the hook. Most things in the air today, work on time tested technology. We've had a helicopter in the experimental stage for almost 4 yrs now. All we did was put a more powerful engine in it so it would run more efficient power curves. It has over 500 flying hours since the switch, so its even time tested now. But the FAA is hung up on getting one single document from MD that we've been waiting on for 2 yrs now.

Over all, the approval process can take a very long, long, long time.

Unless your name is Boeing , Cessna , Lear and can afford to just speed the process up with a 100 million dollar check

LOL, palm grease seems to help with getting approvals in some of the other countries, but not this one.

When ever I run into that kind of a problem, i just press my Easy button. it hasn't worked yet, but I keep hoping.
