Recently, I overcame my fear and watched The Silence of the Lambs. I actually loved it. To my delight, I noticed Hannibal was on the SciFi channel this afternoon. I had missed the first twenty minutes, but I didn't care.

Let me just say: if you're expecting Hannibal to be as good as The Silence of the Lambs, you'll be disappointed. It is overly gory and outlandish. The first movie was a good psychological thriller. The second is just downright foolish. Anthony Hopkins did a wonderful job playing Dr. Lecter again; but the writing and plot didn't do his skills justice.

I see now why Jodi Foster turned down the role as Clarice in this movie. She didn't want her name associated with this one. Julianne Moore did a decent job, though. Julianne, to me, is a beautiful woman. I don't associate beauty with Agent Clarice Starling.

Another sound piece of advice for that movie: don't watch the dinner scenes with Clarice, Hannibal, and Ray Liotta's character when you are suffering from a migraine and upset stomach. Oh boy.

Tastes like chicken!
Watching that scene reminded me of 2001:A Space Odyssey. "What are you doing Dave? I feel myself slipping away Dave. I'm losing me."

Not only visually but similar in taste as well.

I wouldn't know. I've never eaten brains. My grandfather likes them, though--on crackers.
