As far as taking our country back I was thinking about this topic last night and I'm going to have to do some studying on the revolutionary war and our succession from Great Britan. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it because of crap like THIS that a large group of people decided to stand up and revolt against the British empire and start their own country? Even when we did this they tried to force their rule over us until we fought the Revolutionary War and beat them.

Now look at us...a bunch of fools with dwindling freedoms sitting on our dumb asses believing everything the media tells us while we're waving our flags and lighting off firecrackers in celebration of Independance Day. Oh yeah! Free at last baby! FREE AT LAST!! Free from the tyrany of an oppressive government, free from improper taxing, free from unjust laws, free from a government set up in opposition of people's rights and in favor of only themselves. Thank God we have a government of the people, for the people. Oh yes, thank you Lord for this heavenly democracy that, like Christianity, we have to spread to every nation of the world and shove it down their throats under threat of violence. What would we ever do without it!?

How much do we have to lose before it's too much? How long does it have to go on before it's too long? How many people will accept it just because "it's always going to be like this?" We all say that this country is going to hell. What will it take to make us see that we've finally arrived?

And when a group of people finally do stand up and revolt against the oppression how many of the victims of this same oppression will rise up against the revolters and curse them to their faces? Where would you go if you revolted? There's no more land to be discovered that we could run to. The road to taking things back for ourselves is going to be a long and hard one. It would be a road that would grate against your entire lifestyle and would threaten everything that you hold dear. There would be many obstacles to face and many things to fear. But history is wrought with brave people who stood up for their rights and for what was right and won. We, as a society, honor them now though we spat in their faces back then and made their lives a living hell. But they won through standing tall against their opposition with nothing keeping their back straight but the feeling that they were right for doing it all. And good always wins.

Will we be that strong, brave and convicted? Will you?

Here is a letter I recieved this morning.

Subject: WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans:
As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed.



Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is now complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American
forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries
which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short.
The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the
world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe
China.

To Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Yo, boys. Work out a peace deal now. Just note that Camp David is closed. Maybe all of you can go to Russia for negotiations. They have some great palaces there. Big tables, too. I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil.

treaty - starting now.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin."

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the
world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

That letter rambled and could definitely be shortened. I could summarize its meaning in one sentence: To all those who do not agree with U.S. policy, [Bad Word!] you!

I just got done reading the Declaration of Independance and alot of things mentioned in there as to the reasons for breaking all ties with Great Britain are the same things that are happening right now.

Here are some interesting things it says. We are familiar with this one:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--" Yes, the pursuit of happiness just so it can be taken away from you to build a strip mall.

"That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,---" The above are listed as our rights as Americans and that, in order to makes sure that every American has entitlement to these rights that government is set up getting their powers from us.

This one next line is awesome!

"That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.--"

So when ANY government that rules over you goes against your unalienable human rights it is your right, in fact your DUTY, to rise against it, abolish it and create new government on top of it, using the original principles of the old government as its foundation.

Governments that have been around for a long time should not be changed for light matters. And that history has shown us that the people are more willing to suffer under tyranical rule than to rise up and solve the problem by abolishing tyranical rule.

But when a government makes us suffer under a long train of abuses and usurpations (trespass: entry to another's property without right or permission) in order to make us feel small and weak under absolute despotism (government by a singular authority, either a single person or tightly knit group, which rules with absolute power. The word implies tyrannical rule; it suggests a form of government which exercises exacting and near-absolute control over all of its citizens) it is our RIGHT and our DUTY to throw off the current government and to provide New Guards for our future security. This document gives anyone legal right to start up a malitia, in essence. To revolt against your government and to bear arms in order to secure it.

Then the Declaration of Independance goes on to list all of the grievances they had against the king of Britain. Here's some interesting ones.

"He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good."

"He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them."

"He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures."

"He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands."
(Isn't Bush trying to limit our leaving this country for Canada or Mexico in the event of a military draft?)

"He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries."

"He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance."
(How many new offices were set up after 9/11? How many Officers were sent out to harrase people and limit our rights and freedoms under the threat of further possible terrorist actions?)

"He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures."

"He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power."

"For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:"

"For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:"

"He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation."

"He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions."
(While not using Indian Savages against us our current government loves to pit us against each other by using the Media. Spreading half truths and whole lies the Media confusses the issues and make us argue amongst ourselves while the allmight Gov laughs their asses off at our stupidity.)

"In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."

Some grievances very similar to ones we currently have against our own government. As was mentioned by Ann, it is really only a matter of time before a large group of people stand up against the tyranical rule of our own government and push to abolish it under the guidelines that our founding fathers have set in stone.

Boy I wish we had a president that would do that! I've always thought the we need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot by helping everyone else first and ourselves second.
