Agreed, Spraytech! When I was living in Darlington, South Carolina Honda was wanting to open up a factory to produce ATV's like 4 wheelers in town and they got turned down because of one guy who refused to sell his property. It was all over the news in town. This guy had land that was in his family for several generations and he was currently living on it and he refused to sell to them and they had no choice but to find another town to build in. Which they did, the next town over. But this guy that wanted to hold on to this big family treasure of land lived in this POS trailer that was the trailer that he was born in 70+ years ago!
At the time I was calling this man a fool for not selling out for the big payday. I mean, we're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars for not even 100 acres of land and a 70+ year old TRAILER! Now I am thinking this guy was a hero even if it was at the town's expense. Screw the town! This guy had every right to do with his land as he so chose to do. Who gives a [Bad Word!] if the town lost out on HUGE taxes? He had the right to choose and he made his choice, taxes or no taxes. He's lucky Honda made a quick decision to build in another town or he would've been out of his trailer by now with less than half of what they were offering in his wallet and the spot where his life began would be where they spraypaint the body of their 4-wheelers.
