We need a thread devoted to podcasts; and this forum seems to be the best place to put it. So go ahead and make recommendations, talk about your favorite podcasts, post links to them, etc.

So far, all I listen to is This Week in Tech.

If you download your podcasts via RSS feeds like I do , the main podcatchers I use are
FeedDemon at http://www.bradsoft.com/feeddemon/ and my newest program I am using called NewzCrawler at http://www.newzcrawler.com/
Both are shareware and newzcrawler has some extra features like allowing you to use it to download newsgroups as well as monitor webpages which I really like

If you want a free newsreader that supports podcasts you can get one at http://www.seeita.com/ but it requires the .net framework to make it work.

I just download TWiT directly, when I'm ready.

I use Doppler.

Joseph, why don't you use the BitTorrent links? I like M4B for iTunes because if I have to shut it off I can return to where I was. Also, the BitTorrent (at least on Broadband) seems to go super fast.

First: I am too lazy to try BitTorrent. Two: the AAC versions are a little too big for me to download on dial-up. The regular MP3 is enough of a chore.

I agree with you Joseph I like 45 minute episodes of podcasts or shorter since I am on dial up as well. 20-25 megs of data is alot to download on any dial up connection

I wish I could have voted in his poll before he closed it about how long should each show be I just like shorter podcasts due to the shorter download time and like you don't want to mess with bittorrent either

I am no audiophile and do not care if the compression is set higher since his show is just talk, i don't need a high version of the file since I listen to it like a radio broadcast

I am an audiophile. I just don't care about podcast quality, though. As long as it sounds comparable to AM radio, I'll be happy.

Same here Meaning if it has AM quality I will listen as well and don't need it to be cd quality

Since I'm on broadband I'm happy that he's been doing the higher quality versions. I have 15GB of space on my iPod that's just waiting to be used.

If thats the case, just get a rss reader and subscribe to about 10-20 podcasts with it and you'll fill up that space quick I currently subscribe to about that many and alot of them only put out a show a week or so

Has anyone listened to sirus radio channel that podcasts stuff 4 hours a day or the radio station in california that is podcasting 24/7 yet?

Thanks Justin for being one of the twit mirrors I can hardly wait until leo allows the other 2 companies host the show as maybe then I will be able to get new shows in a regular manner then having to download it by hand.
