for dialing 911 repeatively Little harsh don't you think? This woman is probably in need of help and or showing signs of demetia. I'm sure its the attack on the officer and not the phone calls that resulted in her apprehension.

I'm curious what would happen if they blocked 911 from her service to stop her calling and she actually needed it?

It wouldn't be legal for them to block it and I don't know of any municipality that would take the risk. Plenty of people misuse 911 on a regular basis. Usually they are given the non emergency number and the call is ended without incident.Its always better to be polite so people don't fear dialing 911. On the other hand alot of people call the nonemergency line for emergencies.

So far it does look like something is wrong with her. I hope the papers follow up on her story after police investigate, as if she called the police 20 times there is probably some truth to the pizza guy calling her an old coot.

Or we may even find out she kept dialing the wrong number over and over from memory or from an old phonebook that is not up to date and made someone mad that she thought was the pizza place.

Lot's of unanswered questions at the moment to label it as dementia as she seems to have stuck to her pizza story each time she talked to them and she also knew that 911 is the police so it can't be too much of a case of dementia. Of course I may be wrong in my thinking but she seems to have some logic behind her actions. Meaning she was able to associate 911 with the number to the police, and have an idea that the police would do something, and kept the story consistent.

If she called the police 20 times, i can only wonder how many times the pizza guy got called and he would have to be pretty nice and laid back to only call her an "old coot" as I get tired having a person call here 2 times in a row by mistake

Calling someone an old coot does not warrant tying up emergency lines. And the people with dementia do go through personality changes and are often times hostile when things don't go their way. It might not be dementia at all but its kind of weird how she lived 86 years without doing this and now is displaying this behavior. She even attacked and bite a police officer.

That is why I hope they follow up on the story as things don't add up and like you said stuff is weird

I don't think she should be treated as a hardend criminal. I am not a professional in the psychiatric feild but I think this woman needs help more than jail time.

I agree that she needs help over jail as normal folks know not to dial 911 for something like a dispute with a pizza order And someone has to be messed up to call 20 times as you know they would get warned for abusing 911 like that, at least it happens in most episode of Cops I see where that happens.

My dad had dementia and he was the worst patient I ever had.He never slept,and medicines that u give to most people to calm them down had the opposite effect on him.He would get very violent.Thats so hard to see ur dad go from the person u went to for advice about everything to someone who doesnt even know ur name anymore.But,in the end he knew all 8 of us,Amazing.
