No. I used chains in Wyoming once during my first year of driving. Once was enough.

Oh, I will be making some homemade tire chains for the tractor. I have the logchain and some 8 inch bolts to wrap around the rim. I priced tire chains for it and they were way too much. Something like $330.00 for a pair.

Got the carb parts soaking in denatured alcohol and we are working on the tire chains. We cut a few too short and I get to weld some cut links back on. I hope the welds hold in the snow.

they should , unless your doing the tractor pull snow plowing ...LOL

How much snow do you have to plow that it would break a serious welding job? How much force does a weld usually withstand?

There's some tension on them from wrapping around the tire. Other than that, not much should break them.

Ordered some parts since I've been having an intermittent not starting issue. We're getting an electronic ignition kit, new coil, new distributor cap, and a new fuel strainer/valve for the one that is falling apart. Also got two cans of starting fluid. Been out for a while and I missed that stuff.

The mail and UPS just delivered two orders today. One of them was for new pressure washer hose. Now I'm only waiting on a new distributor cap.
