"protein misfolding" is also believed to be the cause of the disease I have called "Crohn's Disease".

Right now, we have a "diet" called "THe specific Carbohydrate Diet" that keeps these amino acids under control. Its believed that inbalances in bacteria levels are the key to protein misfoldings, which is basic Chemistry.

So what we do on our diet is, we exclude specific types of ingredients that "starve" the bad bacteria inside the body. Then we use whats called "acidophilus" to replenish the good bacteria in the body, bringing these bacteria levels back to normal levels, thus restoring the protein misfoldings back to normal.

In Crohn's Disease specifically, these protein misfoldings, cause the Immune System to start attacking the human body. It usually starts in the small intestines, and spreads anywhere from the throat on down. These attacks on itself cause ulcers and inflammation and bleeding internally to occur. They think the protein responsible is the TNF-A alpha protein found in the immune system.

I talk about this alot in my forum Crohnsdaily.com

but yeah thats what I have. Alot of the Cancer drugs they use now they are finding also work on Crohn's. but I feel my best defense against it is sticking to my diet that helps to balance out the bacteria levels to normal levels, until they can find a cure thats my only hope so far.

The diet can be found at breakingtheviciouscycle.info Its an interesting read. Elaine talks about the science behind it, and how its used to balance the proteins back to normal levels. Most doctors have known about this for 20 years now, they just don't want to hear it, because there looking for a "medical" cure instead of looking thru the basics like they should be. There looking for a "miracle pill" which will probably never happen, because doctors they want us to be able to eat what we want, so they ignore diet as a possible solution because they want us drugged up on a bunch of medication, and multiple surgeries, with lousy side effects, and thats the truth of the matter. Doctors make their money off us being sick, do you honestly think they want us to find a cure? Sure, they want to find a cure for Cancer, because its life threatening, but you think they care to find a cure for altimers? or Crohn's? no, because they don't feel its life threatening. The same thing that causes Cancer also causes Crohns and other illnesss, but they don't care because its how the doctors make their money. We don't discurage medication, or seeing your doctor, we just know that the food we eat plays a major role in these protein misfoldings, but doctors they will never agree with that, so a cure will most likely never be found for these things because there looking in the wrong places.

There's a simple reason for that. Doctors don't work for you, they work for drug and insurance companies.

If you take a pill, you're paying the drug companies, who in turn give a kickback to the doctor that gave you the perscription. If you treat yourself with a diet, the grocery store you shop at is a bit less likely to give your doctor a kickback.

When/if I finish the latest work unit they sent me I will get 2100 points or more for it smile My guess why it's so much is it has a tendency to stop and needs to be restarted again sometimes tongue
