Not to change the subject of this thread but with the car people going retro with the new cars and bring back older models why not the pinto. Let it ride again! *he*he*

Well I haven`t updated my Cowboys thread so I thought I might as well do it before I get too dejected. Until last weekend we were sitting at the top of the ladder but then we got our butts kicked last weekend and again tonight. We dropped to fifth and after the rest of this weekend`s games we`ll be lucky to hold that spot. Personally I`m blaming the fact that my supporter`s flag was stolen from the front of my house a couple of weeks ago and I haven`t had the spare cash to replace it. Just that little blip has put them off their game. I won`t change sides because of their slump but I am disappointed.

QUEENSLANDER!!!!!! It was great, you should have seen it. THE best 80 minutes of football I think I`ve ever seen. State of Origin is always great but tonight we were just on fire and beat New South Wales 24 -20. Origin is a three game series held once a year with each game three weeks apart. The players then have to play some of their normal club games in between. Of a team of 16 players 6 were Cowboys players and man did they make their presence felt. It was magic I tell you. And apart from all of that, not one injury so we have a full team to kick some Bulldog butt on friday night. This young man in the mighty maroon jersey is not a Cowboy player but was just brilliant and I picked the photo because it typified a well played game. I`m floating I tell you.

I watched a little of your football today on our espn network. Didn't understand it but I watched. Carlton vs. Melborn. Then they showed highlights. meaning who hit who, and howmany games they were suspended for the hit.
It reminded me a little of english rugby. I played a little rugby on a pub team in Bicester when I was there the first time. The way we played was a bunch of drunks trying to kill the guy with the ball.

Carlton tipped me to the fact that you were watching AFL, which is what those of us in the know call aerial ping pong. In Queensland the majority of us follow Rugby League, which is real men going hard and trying to kill the guy with the ball. Not really but compared to AFL it seems that way. Mark always says that AFL players know all about the best handbags because if a fight breaks out they need to have the good ones to swing at the opposition. My guess is that you played Rubgy Union which makes very little sense to me but has quite a big following here. After the World Cup was played here last year lots of people got into it in a bigger way. We even went to a match but still didn`t understand it. If you have cable that airs the State Of Origin match in just over two weeks try and watch that game. It is THE best Rugby League you will see. It takes all of the best players from the NRL and we have those from Queensland and New South Wales facing off against each other.
